Cultivating Courage
One of the storylines I have had in my head for most of my life is “I do not have an artistic bone in my body”.
I have long had an interest in taking an art class, but have resisted signing up because of so many thoughts:
“I am not naturally artistic.”
“I don’t have time.”
“I don’t have any art supplies.”
…just to name a few things.
But at the close of 2020, I called myself out on ALL of it. I didn’t like my reasons for not pursuing it, so I decided to edit my story and DO something about it.
I enrolled in a year-long online art program called Wanderlust thanks to the suggestion of my absurdly talented friend @reneedesigns
I have reserved Friday evenings for this PRACTICE.
Last week was my first class.
Y’all this is the first piece of art I have made since the 5th grade. Lol. And it was SO MUCH FUN!
I focused on the PROCESS and not the outcome and it was wildly therapeutic.
Anywho… I wanted to share this experience here because this month we are talking all about “cultivating courage” inside of the Rumble & Rise community.
Courage most often doesn’t look like slaying dragons…often it looks like doing simple things…. like signing up for an art class:)
Join me over on Instagram and tell me something you have always wanted to do but haven’t mustered the courage or made time for yet.
