What kind of relationship are you committed to having?

blog

Improving health is an exercise in improving the relationship you have with yourself.

So… the question is…

What kind of relationship are you committed to having?

A One Night Stand?

Literally ZERO commitment.
You show up for yourself once in a great while when the mood strikes but you stay for a few hours at most.

An “On Again Off Again”?

You commit a few times a year (usually around the New Year or a special event), and a few weeks in, the novelty starts to fade and you are reminded that healthy relationships are hard work… so you quit.

A Marriage

In good times and in bad, you are committed to showing up in this relationship each and every day for the rest of your life.

I hope it is the latter.

The relationship you have with yourself permeates ALL of the relationships in your life…

Your relationships with others,

Your relationships with things like food and alcohol,

Your relationship with stress,

Your relationship with failure,

Your relationship with EVERYTHING.

And…

The relationship you have with yourself is fortified with all the things that improve any relationship:
✨Respect
✨Honesty
✨Trust
✨Curiosity
✨Attention
✨Forgiveness
✨Compassion
✨Gratitude

Improve these things and your health will undoubtedly improve:)
